Drama Classes in Castleknock January 2023

Join Betty Ann Norton Theatre School for Speech and Drama Classes in Castleknock this January!

After our wonderful production in the Pavilion Theatre on Friday 15th of December, we are looking forward to getting back to our drama classes in Castleknock for more speech, drama, mime and acting in our classes for children ages 4-12 years old.

Where are there drama classes in Castleknock?

Visit our venue in Castleknock Parish Centre. We are located very conveniently for children who attend Castleknock National School! However, students also travel further to attend though with many students from Castleknock Educate Together enjoying class each week.

Our classes are suitable for children who are interested in pursuing acting as a hobby, those who wish to build confidence and develop clear speaking skills, and those looking to have fun on a Friday as they shake off the hard work of a week of school!

When are the Castleknock classes?

Attend drama classes in Castleknock every Friday. Classes are divided by age. Following reading the breakdown below, click the name of each class to be taken to our registration page for that age group.

Children ages 4-6 years old have their ‘Step One’ class from 1:45-2:45pm.

A 1 hour class that provides a great introduction to the world of speech and drama. Poetry speaking, mime, stories, improvisation, exercises for clear speech, and lots of fun games. Join the youngest of our children’s speech and drama classes.

Children aged 6-8 years old have their ‘Step Two’ class from 2:45-4:15pm.

This 90 minute class bridges the gap between step 1 and the junior class. Continue developing the skills build in Step One. In addition, take part in Feis Maitiu poetry competitions and an Initial speech and drama examination at the end of the year.

Children ages 9-12 years old have their ‘Junior’ class from 4:15-6:45pm.

This 2.5 hour class is broken into the speech class — study poetry speaking, exercises for clear speech, reading aloud, story-telling and public speaking. Following this, we have drama class — practice group scenes, improvisation, mime, and character work. Additionally, your child will prepare for Trinity College London Exam Grades 1-5
